Three Effective Tips For Clearing Stubborn Face Acne With A Regimen Kit

by Ellen Lucas

Are you dealing with stubborn facial acne, frequent breakouts, and hyperpigmentation? You should incorporate a regimen kit into your routine. A kit comprises multiple products aimed at treating acne, controlling breakouts, and improving the overall texture and appearance of the skin. However, with so many kits on the market, choosing the right one can be daunting. Therefore, follow these tips to achieve consistent results with an acne regimen kit.

Start With a Basic Kit

Acne regiment kits have various skin care steps, ranging from three steps to ten steps. As a beginner, you should avoid kits with over five steps, as they may overwhelm you. If you aren't yet consistent with your skin care routine, you may have a hard time following the regimen. Therefore, start with a basic regimen kit with these four products for acne management.

  • Cleanser: Facial cleansing gets rid of dirt, oils, dead skin, makeup, and other pollutants on the skin. It clears the pores to curb new breakouts and prepares the skin to absorb the treatments.
  • Acne treatment: Acne treatments comprise ingredients that target acne-causing bacteria and curb breakouts. These ingredients include benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and alpha hydroxy acids (AHA).
  • Hydrator: Hydrators, such as hyaluronic acid, restore moisture to the skin and reduce the appearance of acne scars and hyperpigmentation.
  • Moisturizer: A moisturizer regulates oil production, decreases breakouts, and hydrates the skin to prevent dryness.

Besides these four products, invest in sunscreen—most regimen kits don't include sunscreen. Sunscreen will protect your face from UV radiation and speed up the fading of dark spots.

Invest in Quality Products

Quality skin care products should not contain harsh ingredients that can inflame the skin or worsen your acne. They should also be suited to your skin type. For example, if you have oily skin, opt for products made for oil-prone skin. Also, before investing in products with active ingredients, such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid, check the percentage of the active ingredient. Start with low-strength formulations and work your way up to stronger formulations to avoid skin irritation.

Follow Skin Care Instructions

Each product in your kit will have instructions for use. Follow these instructions to avoid irritating your skin or damaging its moisture barrier. For example, you may be required to use the exfoliator just a few times a week to prevent irritation. Your regimen may also prohibit you from combining certain ingredients, for example, retinol and AHA. Thus, follow the treatment instructions to achieve clear skin.

Consider these tips when using an acne-prone regimen kit to clear stubborn facial acne. Remember, it may take several weeks or months to see results. Therefore, be consistent and give the products time to work.
